The Process

There’s a lot to consider when planning a wedding. From the venue, to caterers, to florals… let’s look at ticking celebrant off your list!

Here are the three steps (+legals) we will take to bring your ceremony to life!

  • Send me a quick message to check I’m free on your date. From there, we’ll line up a first chat, in person, over the phone, or online, to see if we click. This is about getting to know each other and the kind of vibe you want for your ceremony. Once you’re happy to lock me in, a non-refundable deposit secures the date.

  • This is where the fun really begins. I’ll send you a short form to learn more about your story, plus ideas for vows, readings, and ceremony flow. Then we’ll meet again to shape it all into something that feels just right for you. Together we’ll craft words and moments that are authentic, personal, and uniquely yours.

  • In the lead-up, I’ll guide you through the legal steps, help with any rehearsal you’d like, and make sure all the details are sorted. By the time the big day arrives, everything will be organised so you can simply relax, enjoy, and soak it all in. My job is to set the tone, hold the space, and make sure your ceremony flows seamlessly.

  • The legal details every couple needs to be aware of ahead of your big day:

    • A marriage licence: you’ll apply online at marriages.services.govt.nz. It’s valid for 3 months.

    • An authorised celebrant: you’ll find a list of official celebrants online

    • Two witnesses: anyone who understands the ceremony (yes, kids can be witnesses if they’re old enough).

Everything else (stories, readings, rituals, laughter, music) is up to us to create together.
